Jennifer Yeh is an American author with an unusual background: before turning to fiction, she worked as a real-life frog biologist and earned a PhD in integrative biology. She studied science and creative writing at Harvard College and later became a 2022 BookEnds fellow at Stony Brook University, a program supporting emerging authors. Alongside her fiction, Yeh writes science and evolution textbooks for middle school, high school, and college students. Her debut novel, Creatures of Habit, combines her scientific background with imaginative storytelling, using an extraordinary amphibious visitor to explore deeply human experiences of grief, relationships, and personal transformation. Yeh lives in San Francisco with her family and rescue dog, Cumulus.
