Mónica Ojeda (born 1988) is an Ecuadorian novelist, poet, and short-story writer widely regarded as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Latin American literature. Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, she studied communication and literature and later pursued postgraduate studies in literary creation in Spain, where she is now based in Madrid. Ojeda is known for her intense, experimental prose and her exploration of fear, violence, sexuality, adolescence, and the darker dimensions of human relationships. Her fiction often blends psychological horror with mythology, philosophy, and social criticism, creating unsettling narratives that challenge conventional boundaries between the beautiful and the disturbing.
