Hafsa Lodi is an American-Muslim journalist and author who has spent more than a decade covering fashion and culture in the Middle East. Her writing explores the intersections of faith, feminism, identity, and the social expectations placed on Muslim women. She holds a journalism degree from Toronto Metropolitan University, formerly Ryerson University, and a master’s degree in Islamic law from SOAS University of London. Her work has appeared in publications including The Guardian, The Independent, The National, Vogue Arabia, and Teen Vogue. Her first book, Modesty: A Fashion Paradox (2020), examines the cultural, religious, and political dimensions of the global modest-fashion movement. Turbulence, published in 2026, is her debut novel. Drawing on her interest in faith and women’s experiences, Lodi tells the story of a woman reconsidering her identity and ambitions while navigating marriage, motherhood, and religious belief.
