Monika Radojevic is a Brazilian-Montenegrin writer and poet born and raised in London. Her multicultural background has influenced her exploration of identity, belonging, power, and inequality. Alongside her literary work, she has been involved in feminist advocacy and political communications, including working with the Women’s Equality Party. In 2019, Radojevic became the inaugural winner of the #Merky Books New Writers’ Prize, a competition established to support emerging writers whose voices are underrepresented in publishing. Her debut poetry collection, Teeth in the Back of My Neck, was published in 2021 and explores women’s experiences, identity, and social expectations. Her short-story collection, A Beautiful Lack of Consequence, followed in 2025. Radojevic’s debut novel, Strangerland (2026), follows a Brazilian woman and a Yugoslav immigrant whose lives intersect in London in 1990. Inspired by her family’s experiences, the novel explores migration, sacrifice, love, and the search for home across cultural and geographical boundaries. Her writing combines political awareness with an intimate interest in the emotional experiences that shape people’s lives.
